Norwegian gaming publication Spillhistorie has published an extensive feature about Jarle Adolfsen, RetroMesh and the road to releasing The Omega Strain.
The story starts with the VIC-20, Commodore 128 and Atari ST, passes through 68000 assembly and the demoscene, and arrives at a question that refused to go away: could one developer build a complete 3D engine from scratch?
That experiment became RetroMesh. RetroMesh became the foundation for The Omega Strain—eight polygon worlds, physics-based flight, dynamic weather, large boss encounters and an endless Simulation Mode, all built with modest hardware in mind.
The feature also looks ahead to The Divide and to what RetroMesh might become after The Omega Strain launches.
Jarle lager 3D-motor på fritiden. Read the complete feature at Spillhistorie.
